The value of a person
What is a human life worth?
Economists, governments and companies already put numbers on people. We gathered the most authoritative of them and saved every source on this site, so the evidence cannot disappear.
What society says
$2.3M
The value of a statistical life: what people together are willing to pay to prevent one death. The US Department of Transportation uses $14.2M (2025). Adjusted to the world’s average income, that is about $2.3M for every person.

What each share adds to Huntos
Huntos’s asset is its shareholders. Every claimed share adds one person to that asset. What a person is worth to the entity depends on what Huntos achieves, so we model three cases and state every assumption.
Floor
$56
per member
One year of what a single platform already earns from a person.
Benchmark
$422
per member
A platform’s yearly profit per person ($16.89) at 25 times earnings — roughly how public markets value a user.

per member
One per cent of a person’s lifetime earnings power ($102,507).
| Members | Floor | Benchmark | Ambition |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 million | $56.1M | $422.2M | $1.0B |
| 100 million | $5.6B | $42.2B | $102.5B |
| 1 billion | $56.1B | $422.2B | $1.0T |
| Everyone aged 15 and over (6.2 billion) | $348.6B | $2.6T | $6.4T |
Huntos is for adults 18 and over, so the true ceiling is somewhat lower than the last row.
This is an illustrative model of potential value. It is not a valuation of Huntos or of any share, not a forecast, and not an offer. Huntos is in formation in Honduras and has no revenue, investments or borrowings today. Shares may be worth nothing, and dividends are never guaranteed.
Method
- World value of a statistical life = US value × (world GDP per person ÷ US GDP per person), with an income elasticity of 1.
- Human capital per person = World Bank wealth per person in 2018 × the human capital share of wealth (64%).
- Lifetime spending = household consumption per person in 2024, over life expectancy at birth (73.5 years), discounted at 3% a year.
- Platform figures = Meta’s 2025 revenue and net income ÷ its daily active people in December 2025.
- Entity value = members × value per member.
